Reddish North has the highest population density of the 21 wards in Stockport borough as a result of its many well-preserved terraces, which used to provide housing for workers in its mills. Now providing accommodation, shopping and leisure facilities, Victoria, Elisabeth and Houldsworth Mills are all still standing. The local focal point is Houldsworth Square, named for the family that built all 3 mills, as well as commissioning St Elisabeth’s church from Alfred Waterhouse. Reddish North is also home to Reddish library, in a beautiful building gifted to the area by Stockport Council in 1908. With a strong sense of its industrial past, Reddish North’s many community groups are bringing Reddishers together into the future

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_team_member name=”Cllr David Wilson” position=”Member of the Children and Families Scrutiny Committee” image_url=”https://stockportlabour.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/David-Wilson.jpg” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” box_shadow_style_image=”preset1″ global_colors_info=”{}”]

Further details to follow:

Phone: 0161 292 5693

Bus. email: cllr.david.wilson@stockport.gov.uk

[/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_team_member name=”Cllr Rachel Wise” position=”Member of the Communities and Transport Scrutiny Committee” image_url=”https://stockportlabour.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Rachel-Wise.jpg” facebook_url=”www.facebook.com/ReddishRach” twitter_url=”@therachelwise” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” box_shadow_style_image=”preset1″ global_colors_info=”{}”]

Rachel works for a national charity giving housing advice and is interested in sustainable transport.
