Cheadle East and Cheadle Hulme North covers a good part of Cheadle – particularly around Councillor Lane and Stockport Road – the whole of Cheadle Heath and some of Cheadle Hulme. It also now covers areas off Bird Hall Lane, such as the Lark Hill estate.

David was elected in 2018 in the old Cheadle Hulme North ward, becoming Labour’s first councillor in Cheadle constituency for over 50 years. He has helped deliver Cheadle railway station and in 2023, was elected for a third time with a four-year term in the new Cheadle East and Cheadle Hulme North ward.
