Stockport Labour was proud to support and attend Stockport Pride last Sunday where we celebrated equality, diversity and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in Stockport.

Stockport’s Historic Market Place was the venue for the  Martyn Hett Stage, with entertainment from the best local and LGBTQ+ performers. We had a stall in the famous Stockport Market Hall and were joined by numerous community groups, charities and other organisations providing information about their services, along with sellers, makers and food and drink stalls.

Deputy leader of the Labour Group Cllr Christine Carrigan said: “It was wonderful to take part in such a brilliant day, the highlight for me was the annual parade that winded its way through the flag waving crowds in the town centre.”
